The Antioch Community Chorus is looking for singers to join them singing John Stainer's "Crucifxion" on Sunday March 21 at 7:30pm at the Benedectine Abbey.  All vocal parts are needed. Rehearsals will be held Sundays Feb 14, 21, 28, Mar 7 and 14 from 1:30 - 3:30pm at the United Methodist Church, 848 Main St. Antioch.  Dress rehearsal will be at the Abbey on March 21 and the performance is at 7:30pm that evening. Seeking Directors for 2009-2010 Season

The Waukegan Community Players in Waukegan, IL is looking for directors of all genres for their 54th season (starting October, 2009). Performance spaces are intimate as well as stage space.

At the next meeting of the Waukegan Community Players, directors are invited to present their ideas for shows they'd like to direct for the 2009-2010 season. The meeting will be held at Greentown Tavern, 110 South Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL, at 3 pm, Sunday June 14th. Please send what you intend to propose to waukegancommunityplayers@yahoo.com . Midwest Young Artists/MYA (the largest and most comprehensive youth ensemble music program in the Midwest) is pleased to announce the 3rd year of its Chicago National Chamber Music Competition, designed to provide an educational as well as a competitive experience for young chamber ensembles.

The competition is open to chamber ensembles in 12th grade and younger and is comprised of two divisions (Open/Public and MYA Students). The competition is open to all instruments and is divided into the following two categories: Strings & Piano and All Other Instruments (brass, percussion, voice, winds). Ensembles may consist of 3 to 8 musicians, and may use no more than one piano.

Contestants will be competing for over $5,000 in cash prizes and scholarships and the winner of each division will perform in a Winners Recital at the Chicago Cultural Center on Sunday April 18, 2010. The competition is open to the public.
