(June 03, 2008) The 2008 Dandelion Wine Fine Arts Festival celebrates art, music, drama, and dance through art demonstrations, an open microphone program, musicians, dance demonstrations, theatre workshops, and storytellers. (May 05, 2008) VHHS Music Wins State! Congratulations to the Vernon Hills High School Music Department, which was awarded its second consecutive IHSA State Championship! Determined by scores from two competitions - the Solo and Ensemble Contest in March and the Band, Choir & Orchestra Contest in April, VHHS had a total of 966 points in Class A competition, (111 points ahead of second place), setting a new record for VHHS. (May 03, 2008) The Lake County location of Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) presents a fully staged, ASCAP award-winning contemporary version of Alice in Wonderland, based on works by Lewis Carroll. Performances will be held at the Christian Arts Auditorium in Zion IL [Map] on the weekends of May 9-11 and May 16-18. Operating as a non-profit, CYT has grown to be the largest youth-oriented theater-arts education program in the nation, and offers programs in several area locations [About CYT].
