(Mar 25, 2010) "The Gathering", Josephine Forsberg's contemporary rendering of the last hour of the Last Supper, will be presented at 8pm Mar 25-27 and Apr 1 and 3, and at 2pm March 28 at the Improv Playhouse (IP) Black Box Theatre in Libertyville. (Feb 27, 2010) The Chicago Master Singers will celebrate 31 years of choral performances at their annual gala benefit dinner on Saturday Mar 06 at the Wynstone Golf Club in North Barrington, beginning at 5:30pm with a reception and silent auction, followed by dinner and live auction at 7:00pm. Entertainment will be provided by noted countertenor Mark Crayton, and pianist James Janssen. (Feb 26, 2010) The Fullscore Chamber Orchestra presents its annual winter dinner-concert "Winter Classics" on Friday Mar 05 at the Midlane Country Club in Wadsworth IL. (Feb 25, 2010) Midwest Young Artists (MYA) is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Chicago National Chamber Music Competition to be held on Sunday Feb 28 from 9am - 5pm at Bennett-Gordon Hall on the grounds of the Ravinia Festival. Watch some of the most talented young chamber musicians in the area, in ensembles of 3 to 8 performers, compete for more than $5,000 in scholarships and cash prizes. (Feb 12, 2010) Check out the 2010 Cabin Fever Jazz Series at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest IL. Returning for its 22nd season, this series offers five concerts, including the Dee Alexander Quartet. The series begins Sunday Feb 14 with the Red Rose Ragtime Jazz Band; all Sunday concerts from 4pm - 6pm and one Friday concert beginning at 8pm. (Jan 20, 2010) The 4th Annual Barrington Area Festival of Sacred Music / Choral Music Festival will be held on Sunday Jan 31 at Barrington United Methodist Church, beginning at 7PM. (Jan 03, 2010) This season's Young Vocal Artist Recital Series at the North Shore Unitarian Church (NSUC) in Deerfield begins with a performance by Soprano Susanna Phillips on Sunday Jan 24 at 2PM . Her program is entitled THE TUDOR QUEENS and features music by Carissimi, Schumann, Britten and Larson. For more information, please visit the NSUC website.
